Bishop Sally Dyck in February Response Magazine

United Methodist Women publishes a magazine called Response which is the Voice of Women in Mission. You can read Response magazine in the CUMC library. The February 2008 issue has an article on Holy Conferencing by Minnesota Bishop Sally Dyck!

In her article, Bishop Sally Dyck says:

What is holy conferencing and where did the term or concept come from? Holy conferencing grew out of one of John Wesley's instituted means of grace. Conferencing is a central way we operate as the United Methodist Church: we confer or mutually search for truth. What makes it holy is in the how of our conferring as opposed to what the final outcome or decision might be. If we believe one of the greatest commandments is to love our neighbor, how we relate to each other is as important, and a times more so, than what we finally decide.

Please check out the entire article in Response magazine!
